| After much buzz to try, my wife & I made dinner reservations. For a small environment, we did not think we would be waiting at the drafty door for our reserved table. Strike one. Our server was a little bit too quick with serving. Strike two. We also received the wrong bottle of wine which we overlooked. Chef Kevin did come by to comp our wine, but we did not see the need. Our salad was very fine, about the best presentation for something so simple but elegant. Crabmeat mashed potatos were outstanding, very unexpected & delicious fusion of crab. The chops were also prepared to perfection, but my wife's beef was on the overcooked side. The dining was adequate for high expectations but there is room to improve, beginning with the price point. For a sleepy town center, without any attractions, these are prices to expect in Boston or Brookline, surely not Sharon. The dining room is stark feeling, it could be cozy and warm, but the curtains and open glass looking out to nothing, did nothing for the ambiance. Strike three- desserts. Nothing stood out as "great" and the chocolate my wife was awaiting was old tasting and over priced. The ingredients in our dinner choices could have made a better marriage in a different chef's hands. Chef Kevin was professional, but we did not feel his reputation lived up to what we had heard. We are glad we tried, but we are somewhat disappointed by the "average" dinner that we had hoped to have been "outstanding". The ingredients are there, it is a matter of representing the menu options and lowering the pricing. It was not a full dining room at prime time, another indicator there is room to improve. One suggestion is to do brunch, all you can eat, fixed price. This might spark some volume and help boost the hidden talents that we unfortunately did not experience. |

| This is one of my favorite special occasion restaurants. The food has been consistantly excellent and well worth the money. If you're going midweek, I'd recommend the tasting menu (which is what we had). The decor is simple but elegant with a tin ceiling and an open kitchen. The service was attentive but not intrusive. |
